Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 24, 2026
This policy explains what WaveSync collects, why, and what it never touches. WaveSync is published by Evgeny Mukhin, who is the data controller for the information described here.
The short version: your footage never leaves your Mac. Synchronization runs entirely on your computer.
1. Information You Provide
If you provide an email address, or subscribe, we hold your email address and your licence status. This is used solely to:
- issue and validate your licence key;
- deliver software updates and important product information;
- respond to your support requests.
Launch notification list
If you enter your email address in the notification form on our website, we store that address, the date you entered it, and which part of the page it came from. We use it for one purpose: to send you a single message when the paid version goes on sale. It is not a newsletter, it is not shared or sold, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
We do not store your IP address with that record. Your IP is used only to form a one-way hashed key that limits how many times the form can be submitted from one place, and that key is discarded within the hour.
You can ask us to remove your address at any time by writing to [email protected], and we will delete it. The list is deleted in full once the launch message has been sent.
2. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC, acting as merchant of record. Card numbers and billing details are entered on their systems and are processed under their privacy policy.
We never receive or store your full payment card details. We can see only what is needed to support a customer: the email address on the order, the product purchased, and the subscription's status.
3. Licence Validation
When the Software validates your licence, it sends your licence key and an identifier for the activated computer to the licensing service operated by Lemon Squeezy. This is required to enforce the activation limit described in the Terms of Use. No media, file names, or project data are sent as part of licence validation.
4. Diagnostic Reports
After a synchronization session, the Software may send a diagnostic report containing:
- the WaveSync version;
- the macOS version;
- the application log;
- the file names of the media used in that session;
- synchronization timing information and clip alignment data.
These reports are used only to diagnose technical problems, improve synchronization accuracy, and improve reliability.
Who receives them
Diagnostic reports are received and read only by the Developer, Evgeny Mukhin. They are not sold, shared, or provided to any third party for marketing, advertising, or analytics.
Reports are transmitted and stored using Google services (Google Apps Script and Google Drive), which act solely as a hosting provider — a data processor on our behalf — and process the data under Google's own security and privacy terms.
You can turn this off
Diagnostic reporting is controlled by File ▸ Send Anonymous Diagnostics inside the Software. With it switched off, no diagnostic report is sent. File paths in the log are stripped of your home directory before sending, so your account name is not included.
5. What We Never Collect
WaveSync does not upload or collect:
- video content;
- audio content;
- image data;
- project files;
- media metadata beyond file names and synchronization information.
All synchronization analysis is performed on your local device.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Information is shared only with the service providers named in this policy, and only so they can perform their function, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our legal rights.
7. Retention
Account and licence information is kept for as long as your subscription is active and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Diagnostic reports are kept only as long as they are useful for diagnosing problems and are deleted when no longer needed.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below; we will respond within the time required by the applicable law.
9. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect the information collected. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. Children
WaveSync is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Software after an updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the change.
